Snare reinforcing details

Some modification of my own. I think this is what Slingerland should have done in the first place. Simple and efficient.

Reinforcing plate under the snare strainer, 1mm polished stainless steel. This is where the tuning worm screw is leaning on, and has made damage to unnumerous snares of this design. The plate goes down to the shell fold above the snare bed. The tuning mechnism is attached to this plate.
The modification really goes unnoticed, unless pointed out, and even more so if the shell was chrome plated.
The tuning knob is not original.

The butt end in this model is even more prone to deformation than the strainer end. Just watch closely while turning the strainer on! The reinforcing plate really comes in handy here.
The shorter strainers installed.
